Kristie, also known as “Nickie,” is passionate about understanding and serving the legal needs of individuals and small businesses in North Carolina. She helps businesses get started by advising on entity formation, intellectual property rights, and drafting contracts and agreements. She has guided clients through complex business negotiations with industry leaders, and represents content creators and artists. She also helps clients with real estate matters, and represents individuals in personal injury cases.
Prior to forming Young Legal, PLLC, she worked as a consumer finance litigation attorney, representing and advising financial institutions and creditors. She regularly advised clients of state and federal laws concerning financial services issues, drafted and negotiated settlements, and counseled clients on available remedies pre and post judgment. She has litigated on behalf of her clients in state courts across North Carolina, and routinely represented clients in alternative dispute resolution procedures such as arbitration and mediation.
Nickie is a North Carolina native and attended Wake County public schools. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and earned her law degree from Elon University School of Law. She is an avid reader, amateur genealogist and North Carolina historian, music aficionado, and faithful UNC basketball fan — unless they’re playing the UNCG Spartans (we want the smoke).
